WWE Night of Champions 2013 Results: Live Reaction and Review

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage for WWE Night of Champions 2013!

This year's show takes place at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich., and it has the potential to be a great pay-per-view.

Everything in WWE is always subject to change, but this is the card as it stands.

  • Pre-show: Tag Team Turmoil match to see who faces The Shield for the tag titles on the main show.
  • The Shield (c) vs. ? for the tag title.
  • Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman vs. CM Punk
  • AJ (c) vs. Naomi vs. Natalya vs. Brie Bella for the Divas title.
  • Dean Ambrose (c)vs. Dolph Ziggler for the U.S. title.
  • Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. RVD for the World title.
  • Randy Orton (c)vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE title.

More matches could always be added during the show, and hopefully, that is the case, as a six-match PPV is not something a lot of people will see as worth the money.

Will Big Show have any kind of impact during the show?

Will Damien Sandow cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase?

Which tag team will face The Shield?

Can CM Punk finally get his hands on Heyman?

And lastly, how will Triple H and the McMahon family factor into everything?

Make sure to bookmark this page and come back Monday at the start of the pre-show for answers to all of these questionsandlive coverage of all the action!

Thanks for reading, and follow me on Twitter @BR_Doctor.

This PPV has some pretty good matches, but the big story is obviously going to be Bryan's title win. Triple H kept to his word of not letting anyone interfere, and Bryan became a two-time WWE champion, and a three-time champion overall.

Nobody else won any gold, but WWE has plenty of options for where to take certain feuds as we head towards Battleground in a few weeks.

What did you think of Night of Champions?

Bryan celebrates with everyone at ringside with his newly won WWE title. Not having any other title change hands tonight made this one feel more special.

The show ends with Bryan on the ramp celebrating his win.

I did not expect WWE to have Bryan win back the title so quickly. It will be interesting to see how long this reign lasts.

Bryan vs. Orton WWE Title Match Part 3

Orton sets Bryan on the top rope and then he gets up with him. Bryan slips underneath and then pulls Orton down on the top turnbuckle and then down into the tree of woe for some kicks to the chest.

Bryan and Orton fight on the top turnbuckle for a long time before Bryan hits a superplex. Bryan holds on with his legs and then he pulls himself back up so he can hit a diving headbutt.

Orton kicks out at two and then the original ref comes back in and says he is ok. He starts to count both men down, but Bryan makes it up first. He nails Orton with kicks to the chest, but Orton catches him on one and hits a throw that causes Bryan to land hard on his shoulder.

Bryan ends up kicking Orton's head off and then he hits the running knee to the face for the pin and the win.

Winner and new WWE Champion: Daniel Bryan

Yes Yes Yes!!!

Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton WWE Title Match Part 2

Bryan ends up building a head of steam as he hits a few dropkicks to Orton in the corner. Bryan takes Orton out with a pair of suicide dives, popping the crowd huge.

Orton stops the third suicide dive with an elbow to the head of Bryan. He pulls Bryan out and DDTs him from the apron to the floor.

Bryan barely makes it back in the ring by nine, and Orton looks pissed. Orton taunts the crowd by yelling YES before he coils up for the RKO.

Bryan pushes him into the ref and then he droopkicks Orton into the ref, sending him outside the ring. Bryan tries to get Orton down for the Yes Lock, but Orton counters and hits a powerslam for a near fall.

Bryan ends up locking in the Yes Lock, and Orton makes it to the ropes to break the hold. Bryan misses a corner dropkick and Orton covers him for a two count.

Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton WWE Title Match Part 1

The bell rings and they have a little staredown before locking up. They push each other around the ring until they end up in the corner.

Bryan keeps control for a bit, working over the arm of Orton. Orton takes back control and he starts to stomp away at various body parts of Daniel Bryan.

Bryan tries to fight back, but he gets dropped over the top rope. Orton keeps Bryan down with a headlock. Bryan fights up and he ends up taking Orton down.

Bryan starts beating on Orton, but the ref pulls him off and Orton ends up clotheslining Bryan down. He circles Bryan while stomping on hi arms and legs.

Ambrose joins Rollins and Reigns in the ring to celebrate everyone retaining their titles as we head to a "Don't try this at home" video.

The WWE title match is up next.

The Shield vs. Prim Time Players WWE Tag Team Title Match

Rollins taunts Titus with quick slaps and then retreats to the corner. Titus finally grabs Rollins and slams him with ease.

Young comes in off the tag and he keeps up the offense for a bit, but Rollins brings him to his corner and Reigns comes in off the tag with hard shots to Young.

Young low-bridges Reigns and then he hits a nasty elbow to Rollins to get a near fall. Titus tags in and he stomps away at Rollins in the corner.

The fight spills to the outside, and when they get back in the ring it's The Shield who are in control of Young. Reigns tosses Young over the top rope and then he drapes him over the apron so he can hit a knee to the face.

Rollins is back in off the tag. Young hits a big throw to get some breathing room. Reigns comes in off the tag and he stops Young from tagging in Titus.

Young kicks him off and then he finally makes the tag. Titus clotheslines Rollins' head off before he starts going to work with all his signature offense. Rollins hits a nice kick, but Titus grabs him for a spinebuster.

Reigns breaks up the pin, and Young comes in to take Reigns to the outside. Reigns comes back in and spears Titus so Rollins can get the pin and the win.

Winners: The Shield

Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler US Title Match Part 2

Ziggler jumps up when Ambrose is on the top rope and he pulls Ambrose off for a facebuster for a near fall. Ziggler gets the sleeper locked in, but Ambrose counters with a side suplex.

Ambrose and Ziggler counter each other left and right until Ziggler hits the Fame-asser for a two count. Ziggler misses wildly in the corner and Ambrose plants him with his finisher.

Ambrose pins Ziggler to get the win and retain his title.

Winner: Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler US Title Match Part 1

The bell rings and Ziggler uses his quickness to take Ambrose down right away. They lock up again, but Ambrose gets in the ropes to force a break.

Ziggler hits a dropkick for a one count, and then he lays in with nine elbows and one jumping elbow. Ziggler clotheslines Ambrose over the top rope and they both tumble to the outside.

Ziggler and Ambrose go back and forth for a bit, with some near falls being exchanged. Ziggler gets on the middle rope and Ambrose climbs up with him.

Ambrose hits a double underhook suplex from the middle rope for a near fall.

Dean Ambrose makes his way through the crowd, which means the US title match is up next.

Ryback picks up Heyman and takes him to the back while Punk lays hurt in the ring. Punk pushes away the refs who try to help him up and he makes his way to the back on his own.

Punk is bleeding from the back a little bit after taking a shard from the table. Punk gets cheered as he makes his way backstage.

Punk vs. Heyman Part 3

Punk chases Heyman through the crowd and he ends up catching Heyman back in the ring. Heyman tries to hug Punk, but Punk beats him with the kendo stick.

He is really nailing Heyman with the kendo stick. Punk signals for the GTS, but then he pulls a set of handcuffs out of his boot.

He cuffs Heyman's hands behind his back and then he takes a kendo stick and starts beating on Heyman mercilessly. Heyman tries to yell that he is tapping, but the ref doesn't stop the match.

Ryback comes out of nowhere and he lifts up Punk to drive him through the table in the corner. He pulls Punk to the middle of the ring and then he lays Heyman on him to get the three count.

Winner: Paul Heyman

Punk vs. Axel and Heyman Part 2

The crowd chants for tables, so Axel grabs one from under the ring. He sets it up in the corner and grabs Punk for a suplex, but Punk is able to spin them around so he only gets suplexed onto the mat.

Punk ends up sending Axel into the steel chair that Axel had set up earlier, and Axel rolls to the outside in a daze. Heyman encourages him to get back in the ring, and Punk starts working Axel over with all his signatures.

Punk tries for a suicide dive to Axel, but Axel gets the steel chair up and hits Punk in the head. I wonder if they will get fined for that move?

Axel tees off on Punk with the kendo stick several times before getting another two count on Punk. Punk ends up with a kendo stick and he hits Axel before hitting the GTS.

He locks in the Anaconda Vise to get the submission win.

Curtis Axel is eliminated and Heyman has to get in the ring to face Punk.

CM Punk vs. Xurtis Axel and Paul Heyman Part 1

Punk comes out with a kendo stick screaming "Time to die!" I am already excited to see what happens.

Axel gets his own kendo stick and when the bell rings they circle each other. Axel gets in the first shot, but Punk answers right back with several shots to Axel.

Punk ends up hitting a suicide dive to Heyman outside the ring out of nowhere. He rolls Heyman in the ring and grabs a kendo stick.

Axel hits Punk with a low blow and Heyman escapes to the outside. Axel starts laying in with hard right hands. He grabs a kendo stick and hits Punk with a few hard shots before scoring a near fall.

Heyman tells Axel that he believes in him as Axel grabs a steel chair. Punk starts kicking Axel and he drops the chair. Punk grabs it, but Axel takes him out with a beautiful dropkick.

Heyman looks happy as Axel sets up the chair in the corner.

We get a video package for the CM Punk/Paul Heyman feud, which means this match is up next.

Fandango vs. Miz

Fandango controls the first few minutes of the match, keeping Miz grounded and the pace slow. They take the fight outside the ring for a bit, with Miz jumping off the apron right into a kick to the gut.

Fandango brings Miz back in the ring and locks in a waistlock. Miz starts to build some offense against Fandango, and he focuses on the knee to set up for the Figure Four.

He drops Fandango with a short DDT for a close two count. Fandango counters the Skull Crushing Finale and he hits Miz with a suplex for a near fall.

Fandango gets Miz on the apron and then he whips him into the ring post. He climbs up top and leg drops Mix off the ropes for a near fall.

Miz ends up locking in the Figure Four eventually to get the submission win.

Winner: Miz

Heyman is shown giving Axel a speech backstage about taking this match with Punk seriously.

Randy Orton is shown talking to Triple H about why he banned everyone from ringside. Triple H says it's a test.

We go back to the ring where we see Fandango and Summer Rae make their way out.

Fin fact: Triple H uses his phone case as a money clip.

RVDvs. Alberto Del Rio World Title Match Part 2

Del Rio keeps RVD grounded with hard kicks and submission holds. RVD starts to mount some offense against Del Rio, and he hits the big kick off the top rope, but Del Rio avoids Rolling Thunder and hits the backstabber for a close two count.

RVD gets back control and hits a big flip off the top rope onto Del Rio for another two count. The crowd chants for RVD as he and Del Rio trade right hands in the middle of the ring.

Del Rio hits the split-leg moonsault for another near fall on Del Rio. Del Rio hits a running side kick to RVD for yet another two count.

Del Rio goes to the top rope, but he comes off right into a spinning kick from RVD. Van Dam follows up with a Five-Star For Splash, but Del Rio gets his knees up.

Del Rio locks in the Cross Armbreaker, but RVD fights hard and makes it to the ropes. Del Rio doesn't break by the five count and he gets DQ's.

Winner: RVD

Del Rio goes after RVD again after the match is over, and then he grabs a steel chair from ringside. Ricky stops him and RVD is able to drop Del Rio.

RVD sets up Del Rio in the corner and then he goes to the next turnbuckle and tells Ricky to hold up the chair. RVD gets up and leaps across the ring to dropkick the chair into Del Rio to pop the crowd.

I predicted this ending, but I was hoping I would be wrong.

RVD vs. Alberto Del Rio World Title Match Part 1

Ricky gives RVD's official introduction, and Lilian delivers Del Rio's intro in Spanish. Del Rio goes right for RVD after the bell with kicks to the gut, but he ends up taking a big kick to the face from RVD.

Ricky is still at ringside. Didn't Vickie tell him he wasn't allowed to be out here tonight?

RVD nearly kills himself when he does a moonsault off the apron onto Del Rio, but he gets up like he always does. RVD drops ADR across the barricade and then he hits the spinning leg drop off the apron onto Del Rio.

RVD and ADR end up switching places on the apron and then Del Rio takes out RVD with a suicide dive to the outside. He runs RVD into the barricade before he rolls him back in for another near fall.

RVD is out next and it looks like we will see the World Title match now.

AJ vs. Natalya vs. Brie Bella vs. Naomi Divas Title Match

JBL calls Naomi the best pure athlete in the Diva's division. He is probably right.

All three women gang up on AJ as she tries to escape. They take turns throwing AJ against the barricade before rolling back in the ring.

Brie sends AJ out of the ring with a knee to the face and then she clotheslines Naomi and Natalya. She gets Natlya out of the ring with a dropkick, but then Naomi hits her with a dropkick of her own.

Naomi and Brie collide in the corner, and then out of nowhere we see AJ roll up Natalya for a two count. Naomi misses Natalya with a high cross body and then AJ throws her out of the ring.

AJ ends up pulling Naomi down off the apron the hard way. Brie rolls up Nattie in the ring for a near fall, and Nattie responds with a few bodyslams.

JBL rightly questions why the ref doesn't count when Brie gets slammed on top of Naomi. Natalya locks the Sharpshooter on both Brie and Naomi at the same time, but AJ breaks it up and locks Nattie in the Black Widow.

Nattie taps and AJ retains the Divas title.

Winner: AJ

Ricardo Rodriguez and RVD have a little segment backstage before we see AJ skipping down the hall. She runs into Aksana, Layla and Alicia Fox.

Foxy says they are done being her army and she and Aksana walk away. Layla stays behind for a moment, but then she runs off too. The Divas title match is up next.
