got this for my 5 year daughter knowing full well it needed full assembly with glue. she loves building things and was right there helping me put it together. complete assembly from opening the box to firing for the first time was about an hour and a half. we were able to cut some time because we would glue some pieces together for one part, set them aside and glue pieces together for another part, and then be able to go back to the first for more gluing.as far as firing, it does take a lot of practice and playing with. we used the change from one of her piggy banks as counterweight and it works very well. as far as projectiles to use, we've found that the balls it comes with are sweet useless as they are essentially painted ping pong balls and are far too set alight to get any decent distance. messing around with her other toys, i did find that the smaller bouncy balls you can get from vending machines work very well; they're a nice size and have a decent amount of w...
