got this for my 5 year daughter knowing full well it needed full assembly with glue. she loves building things and was right there helping me put it together. complete assembly from opening the box to firing for the first time was about an hour and a half. we were able to cut some time because we would glue some pieces together for one part, set them aside and glue pieces together for another part, and then be able to go back to the first for more gluing.as far as firing, it does take a lot of practice and playing with. we used the change from one of her piggy banks as counterweight and it works very well. as far as projectiles to use, we've found that the balls it comes with are sweet useless as they are essentially painted ping pong balls and are far too set alight to get any decent distance. messing around with her other toys, i did find that the smaller bouncy balls you can get from vending machines work very well; they're a nice size and have a decent amount of weight to them, and they are, so far, non-lethal (but some barbie dolls have learned to hide when the war machine comes out).a very nice project for a parent and outcome - girls included - and you get a fun toy to enjoy together.

My 7 yo child who is a lego stubborn was able to pause on the directions, keep pro looked-for aid including the glue. I'm having a bet an 8 yo may maybe do it solo. The directions were easy to pause on, and approximately calculate ago concluded, the trebuchet facility splendid. Setting it up and launching is no conundrum pro him to do on his confess. I love this. As a knowledge olympiad coach, this would get on to a splendid starter kit pro a trebuchet consequence.

Bought this and propel for my class. The glue that they use is awesome. It sets in outline..and I norm outline. I had a 12 year old building it and a 10 yr old and they made it in about 2-3 hours. They did get on to approximately mistakes so I reflect a competent adult must be bestow . :). It facility sweet awesome. Its not low-expense any. We were shooting marshmallows and marbles and it threw them approximately 6 feet. We've old it for 9 weeks and it hasn't out of action.

This kit is ALL Glue and sticks. No nails. This is skilled and bad. I would be inflicted including liked a few nails and screws best - a reduced amount of mess and quicker build, but the all-glue method makes it a modest safer and easier I guess. Beware - it will take a LONG time since the various sub-assemblies should dry before you can combine them.It shoots further than our force, but actually takes a lot of practice, prep, and fine-tuning of the weights and release lob before you can get it effective right.

He was able to pause on the in rank sweet water supply including a modest assistance early us, and he has had a ration of enjoyable including the trebuchet itself. It has looked-for approximately re-gluing everywhere approximately of the pieces did not call collectively water supply at initially.

My boys love it! We also have the force so of course here are battles. The box says no tools needed, not true. Also, make sure you have some wood glue on hand. We used Brute Glue.
