I am mean including stars or I would give this set five. It has single been played including twice so far so I'm not sure about durability but it seems skilled and sturdy in maintenance including Legos overall. This set works water supply for in cooperation my 2-1/2 and 4 year old grandsons. Filling the diesel engine including gas is a favorite activity (sound effect) but the crane, conveyor belt,and truck grant for loading/receiving play as water supply. The sound effects (gas pump and engine single) are not loud or obnoxious and just add an additional sensory element. It is battery-operated but single requires 3- AA and has a simple on/off button on top of the engine. Again, this aspect doesn't detract from play value in view of the fact that the other elements are all hand-operated. This set would seem appropriate to a fairly wide age array, at the start to be used after assembly by someone older and then for construction by the child him or herself.
